History
Chara Bearmaul of the Blackrock Clan met Krondarr Crowstalker of the Warsong Clan sometime during the invasion of the Old Horde onto Azeroth. However, it wasn’t until they were both in a group separated from the broken remnants of the Old Horde that they began to grow close. With several other members of their own clans and others, they settled in an area somewhere around the Hillsbrad Foothills and the Alterac Mountains. It was here that the two orcs became lifemates and where Chanasai Crowstalker was born.
At the age of ten, Chanasai ventured out too far from her home while practicing her skill tracking rabbits and got captured by an Alliance patrol. Given how quickly orcs develop physically, she was believed to be older than her actual age and not a child. Despite being so young, she knew that she couldn’t give her family up and pretended to not understand the human’s Common. While her father had never been skilled at the language, her mother was and insisted that her daughter know what they were saying to her.
The patrol searched the area they had found her in for others but upon finding nothing, transported her to the nearest internment camp to them and left her there. Once amongst her own, Chanasai lost her composure and the older orcs immediately recognized that she was only a child. A female orc older than her mother gently took her aside into a hut, soothing her like one would a child and promising to look after her. Three weeks later, Thrall and the New Horde freed the camp.
Despite being free, it took five years until she saw her family again. In that time, Chanasai – being small, quick, and silent still – had become a scout for the New Horde and had learned tactics, archery, as well as other skills. She had also taken at least one life when another scout and she had stumbled upon each other. Then, one day in Razor Hill, an older male orc holding a small child in one arm fell to his knees in front of her and she realized that it was her father. As he held her tightly to his chest, crying into her hair, Chanasai realized without anything needing to be said that her mother had not made it.
Krondarr Crowstalker and her younger brother, Chandarr, settled in Razor Hill and her father began working to help finish construction on the new city of Orgrimmar. Chanasai spent most of her time then shifting between continuing to learn more about the terrain or tracking animals in their new home and helping her father with her brother. At the age of sixteen, she received an official invitation into the ranks of the Horde scouts to continue doing what she had been doing for them. Since then she has served in whatever way that has been needed, up until the end of Garrosh Hellscream’s reign as Warchief. At that time, she slipped away from one of the Horde camps and joined with the rebel forces that Vol’jin was raising.
After the death of Vol’jin, she served loyally to Sylvanas Windrunner despite her misgivings of the Banshee Queen’s leadership. Despite those misgivings, she was surprised by the eventual betrayal and Varok Saurfang’s death. Since the Horde Council took control of the Horde, Chanasai has felt a greater faith in the Horde than she had felt in some time.
