History
Born into a broken family of high elves – his father vanished to parts unknown and his mother died of a broken heart hours after his birth – Hresden was raised by his older sister, Lymalis. Already an adult and a Ranger, she did her best to raise her brother on her own despite not having what she dubbed a particularly motherly nature.
As a child he dreamed of being a Ranger like his sister, but his magic manifesting strongly put an end to that as she insisted that he had to learn to control it. That didn’t, however, stop Hresden from learning from her over the years how to track and hunt as well as use a sword.
Despite knowing there was a war beyond Quel’thalas, it didn’t become truly real to Hresden in seriousness or scope until he read a missive about the undead that his sister had left out. Only a few days later, the undead were at the city gates and Silvermoon was under siege. Hresden and his fellow students fought their way through the bloodied city streets, losing their fellows in dribs and drabs along the way despite managing to continuously fight off undead. As the last of his magic sputtered to summon a fireball to protect him and his last classmate, arrows seemed to erupt from the body and suddenly Lymalis was there. Even exhausted and mana spent, Hresden leaned into his sister with the full trust that everything was going to be alright. After managing to escape the city, they managed to make their way down to the harbor and onto a ship with others trying to escape the death and destruction, not caring where they were going.
During the years after the fall of Quel’thalas, the siblings ended up settling in Theramore, leaving their entire home continent behind to try and start anew. Until nasty rumors that followed Lymalis about her abandoning her fellow Rangers found them as well as her giving in to the hunger the destruction of the Sunwell had cursed them with. When his sister decided to leave Theramore because of these things, she intended to leave him behind to protect him. After Hresden nearly had a panic attack at the thought and told her that he couldn’t continue alone, he came with her as she followed news of a revived Silvermoon and their now blood elf kin joining the Horde.
In the years since joining the Horde, Hresden has proved himself a capable member of it as well as a powerful mage. He’s participated in some fashion in most of the major campaigns that have occurred, from exploring the ruins of Draenor to fighting the Burning Legion. The only conflict he did not directly participate in was the Fourth War, using his connections with the Tirisgarde that he had formed during the fight with the Legion to escape serving in a conflict he despised wholeheartedly.
