History
Yahui was six years old when she got a strange looking sister. She was confused at first by the blue-skinned girl that her parents said was a troll but – with the innocence of most children – she quickly warmed to the other girl. Especially after seeing how nervous Zallaka was as well as hearing her crying in the night in their home.
They became fast friends and Yahui made it her mission to make her new sister as familiar with what was now her home and its customs as she was herself.
When it came to them taking their own paths in life, Yahui took to the shamanic arts and Zallaka went to train with the monks in what they laughed about personally as being a bit of a switch for their own peoples. Despite their differing training and styles, they would often spar against each other in their spare time as well as meditate together as one, each seeking their own peace.
When the Skyseeker crashed on the back of Shen-zin Su, she and Zallaka were amongst those who moved to help those who had crashed. At some point they were separated and were not able to meet back up before the decision was made for the Tushui to follow the Alliance. Yahui was amongst the first to volunteer to go along with Aysa Cloudsinger, only realizing after she had made the commitment that going amongst the Alliance meant that her sister could not follow. A Thunderpetal never went back on their word, however, and she returned home to gather her things and to explain what had happened to her sister. Only to find that Zallaka had already come and gone, unable to linger longer due to the Huojin leaving with the Horde and knowing she could not go with the Tushui. Yahui was heartbroken but…she had given her word. Leaving as well could lead her eventually to seeing her sister again.
It was almost a year before they ran into each other in the streets of Dalaran, which was were Yahui shared plans with her sister that she was going to find a place to live in the neutral city before saying she could live with her. Unfortunately, the Purge of Dalaran happened and all of those plans to live together were pushed back as the Horde became banished from the city. Yahui, as her sister’s urging, still went forward with her plan to find a place to live in the city with Zallaka telling her that someday they would be able to live in the same home again. She always left space in her home for her sister, even going ahead and buying a bed and a screen to separate the sleeping areas.
When the Horde were allowed back into Dalaran, the first place Yahui brought Zallaka was to her home to show her the space waiting for her. The reveal had tears in her sister’s eyes, for she had been sleeping in places off of the kindness of others – even when she had visited her birth people. Since then, they have made their home in the city with only one wish – that their parents (birth and adopted) could see where they are now.
Residence
Yahui and Zallaka share a little one room home in Dalaran, tucked back into the end of an alley and somehow existing in the same space as the backend of the shop next door (they don’t ask how, they just pay rent). While their kitchen/living area is a bit of organized chaos more often than not, their carefully separated sleeping areas couldn’t be more different. Zallaka’s is neat and orderly with a place for everything and everything in its place, a reflection of the calm she attempts to keep. Her side also features a small shrine to the loa Shango, who she last heard his mother praying to. Yahui’s side is purely chaotic with things strewn everywhere, like a rolling thunder storm meeting a tornado.
