Reswin Tayle

History

Although he and his older brother Maeron were born in Darkshire when it was still Grand Hamlet, the corruption of Duskwood and renaming of the town prompted their parents to send them north to live with their uncle, Glynn Annel. Their father, Donnem, refused to leave his home and their mother refused to leave him, so sending their sons away was the only compromise they managed to come to. At that point seven while his brother was ten, Reswin didn’t entirely understand why they were being sent away and never entirely got over it.

Growing up in Stormwind under the care of their uncle, the two brothers were occasional troublemakers and continuously curious about their uncle’s work with SI:7. Maeron’s curiosity eventually ran out, turning to other venues of interest that led to him being a member of Stormwind’s navy. Reswin, on the other hand, remained interested in the organization and Glynn eventually ended up starting training him early. Despite Master Shaw establishing a rule once he took command of SI:7 that only allowed new members to enter training at eighteen, Reswin’s raw skill and his uncle’s training got him in at sixteen. However, he had a great deal of limitations on his training and was not allowed to do anything deemed dangerous until he was eighteen. On the morning he woke up on his eighteenth birthday, Reswin found a note from Duneddae “Dunes” Read – one of SI:7’s spymasters – inviting him to come train with her. He immediately leapt at the chance to have her as his mentor and ran half-dressed through SI:7 to meet with her.

For two years, Reswin worked side-by-side with Dunes, learning hands on the skills he would need as a spy, before he began receiving his own personal work. One of the tasks he was given was to go back home to Duskwood, following vague reports of off behavior from the Night Watch and others in the area. He had barely begun his investigation when his camp was attacked by a feral Nightbane worgen, putting him into a fight for his life. The worgen managed to heavily claw his arms as Reswin used them to defend his torso and also hit the right side of his face so fiercely that it ruined his eye. The beast also bit him on the arm, which allowed Reswin to stab it in the heart but also spread the curse to him. Half-blind and bleeding, the spy attempted to make his way to Raven Hill where he had already taken stock of several Gilnean worgen when he had arrived in Duskwood but didn’t make it far. Bloodloss and a disorientation brought on by the curse caused him to collapsed and he was picked up by a mage, Katrina Wardstone. She used her magic to carry him into town, where his wounds were discovered and arrangements were made.

When Reswin woke, his wounds were bandaged and he was in an unfamiliar body – that of a worgen. Though he wanted to simply lay down and cry, Duneddae Read had not trained a coward and he was determined to get his life back. The Raven Hill worgen began the process of teaching him what he needed to know until Reswin someone from SI:7 was sent to bring him back to Stormwind. Due to his injuries and need to learn how to deal with his new form, he was benched until he could pass field exams again for active duty.

During his time in recovery, Glynn Annel recruited his nephew into the ranks of the Uncrowned as Reswin began showing extreme restlessness being unable to do anything in SI:7. This led to him discovering the capture of former SI:7 assassin Saran Tathdyl while investigating the murder of Amber Kearnen. Reswin worked with the gang leader and information dealer Gillian Addington and tauren druid Caren Bloodwolf to arrange Tathdyl’s rescue.
